2025 Martin Custom Shop OM/000 14-Fret Quahog Shell Inlay
A truly one-of-one instrument, this guitar is a OM 14-Fret (000 body size with a dreadnought scale length) built by the men and women of the Martin Custom Shop. Martin OM guitars feature the already popular 000 body size, but utilize a longer scale length found on dreadnought guitars in order to extract deeper & fuller tones from the more comfortably proportioned body of the 000. Made from top-shelf, high grade Spruce and Mahogany for the back and sides, this instrument enjoys careful construction techniques employed by the Martin Custom Shop such as hand finished scalloped spruce bracing, a polished ebony fretboard and matching polished ebony headplate, and perhaps most exciting of all, a gorgeous set of Quahog Shell fretboard inlays that were sourced by the Martin Custom Shop off of the coast of Martha's Vineyard. Known as the "jewel of the island" and used in jewelry made by the indigenous people of Martha's Vineyard for thousands of years (also known as "wampum"), this inlay material offers a unique touch of aesthetic flair to an already beautifully spec'd Martin Custom Shop example.
