This extremely limited J-45 was produced as part of Gibson's Custom Acoustic Anniversary Collection celebrating 100 years of Gibson flat-top guitar craftsmanship, with only 100 instruments made worldwide. It takes Gibson's legendary “workhorse” and adds a collection of premium appointments and tonewoods worthy of the occasion.
The traditional slope-shouldered dreadnought features a beautifully figured bearclaw Sitka spruce top over mahogany back and sides, finished in a stunning Cremona Burst gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. The combination delivers the dry, focused response and powerful low end that has made the J-45 a favorite for decades.
The mahogany SlimTaper neck features a rosewood fingerboard with binding extending up to the headstock, along with an abalone-inlaid “The Gibson” logo. Anniversary appointments include multi-ply body binding, abalone purfling, gold Grover tuners, and a rosewood belly-up bridge with pyramid wings inspired by Gibson's earliest flat-top designs.
For amplified performance, the J-45 is equipped with LR Baggs VTC electronics with convenient soundhole-mounted controls.
