This guitar is in mint condition, with no visible blemishes. It has only been handled lightly and remains exceptionally clean throughout. Includes the original Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity, and all original case candy.

Originally introduced in 1960 as Gibson’s first square-shoulder acoustic, the Hummingbird quickly became a defining instrument of a new musical era. This Custom Shop Historic reissue faithfully captures that legacy while benefiting from modern craftsmanship and materials.

Built with a thermally aged Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, this Hummingbird delivers a beautifully balanced tone—clear and articulate on the high end, with warm, woody depth and rich harmonic overtones. The thermal aging process gives the top the responsiveness and character of a well-played vintage instrument right out of the case.

A key feature of this model is its fixed bridge, offering improved energy transfer from the strings to the top for enhanced resonance, sustain, and overall tonal clarity compared to traditional adjustable bridge designs.

Finished in a thin nitrocellulose lacquer with Gibson’s hand-rubbed VOS treatment, this guitar has an authentic vintage look and feel, while allowing the wood to breathe and resonate freely. The iconic hand-painted Hummingbird pickguard, vintage-style appointments, and classic sunburst finish complete the unmistakable aesthetic.

Key Features:

•Thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top

•Mahogany back and sides

•Round mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard

•Mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays

•Fixed bridge for enhanced resonance and sustain

•Gotoh Keystone tuners (gold plating)

•Hand-painted Hummingbird pickguard

•Thin nitrocellulose VOS finish

A stunning example of a legendary model—perfect for players and collectors alike.
