1982 Fender American Vintage '62 Stratocaster Reissue – Fiesta Red

Fullerton Era • Original Hardshell Case

This 1982 Fender American Vintage '62 Stratocaster Reissue is in great overall condition and has aged beautifully over the past four decades. Finished in the extremely rare Fiesta Red, this is a highly desirable Fullerton-era instrument from the very first year of Fender's legendary American Vintage Reissue (AVRI) series.

The Fullerton-built American Vintage Reissues are widely regarded as some of the finest vintage-inspired guitars Fender has ever produced. Built before production moved from Fullerton, California, these early AVRI instruments are known for their exceptional craftsmanship, lightweight feel, and vintage-correct appointments, making them increasingly sought after by both collectors and players.

Finished in the incredibly rare Fiesta Red, this Stratocaster is far less common than standard finishes from the era and has become one of the most collectible color options offered during the first year of production. The finish has aged beautifully, giving the guitar the kind of natural vintage character that simply can't be replicated.

Equipped with three vintage-style single-coil pickups, this Strat delivers everything you expect from an early-'60s Stratocaster—sparkling cleans, bell-like highs, expressive "in-between" tones, and warm, articulate lead sounds. Whether you're playing blues, classic rock, surf, or country, it captures the unmistakable voice that made the Stratocaster legendary.

The guitar is nearly all original. At one point in its life, the electronics were replaced and the body received a small humbucker route beneath the pickguard. Fortunately, the original electronics were carefully retained and have since been professionally reinstalled, returning the guitar to its original specifications. The original pickguard was modified during the conversion, so a correct reissue guard has been installed and looks excellent.

The neck is dated August 1982, and the original CTS potentiometers also date to 1982, further confirming its authenticity. A 5-way pickup selector has been installed for the added versatility that many players prefer over the original 3-way switch.

Includes the original Fender tweed hardshell caseoriginal tremolo arm and 1982 Fender Showcase Booklet.
