This PRS McCarty 10-Top is in excellent condition, with no significant cosmetic blemishes to note. Light superficial surface scratches may be present but are too minor to properly show in photos. The McCarty is one of PRS’s most celebrated models, blending vintage-inspired appointments with the precision, playability, and craftsmanship that PRS is known for. Named after legendary guitar designer Ted McCarty, this example features a stunning figured maple 10-Top in Charcoal Burst over a resonant mahogany body. The thicker mahogany body is designed to enhance resonance and sustain, while the comfortable Pattern mahogany neck and bound 22-fret East Indian rosewood fingerboard provide an exceptionally satisfying playing experience. The 10" radius feels equally at home with rhythm work, chord-heavy playing, and lead lines.
Tonally, the McCarty delivers in a big way. The TCI-tuned 58/15 LT humbuckers offer the warmth, clarity, and harmonic complexity associated with great vintage PAF-style pickups while retaining excellent articulation. The neck pickup is smooth and vocal, while the bridge delivers plenty of punch and definition. The 3-way selector and push-pull tone control add additional tonal options, making this guitar remarkably versatile.
