The PRS Silver Sky is the product of an intensive collaboration between John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith, blending vintage inspiration with PRS’s modern precision. After more than two and a half years of development, this model captures the soul of early-’60s single-coil guitars—refined into a beautifully balanced, road-ready instrument.
Inspired by Mayer and Smith’s favorite elements from 1963–1964 classics, the Silver Sky delivers a familiar feel with a distinctly PRS identity. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the inverted PRS headstock (designed for improved tuning stability and string tension) to the vintage-style locking tuners.
The 635JM neck profile paired with a 7.25” radius rosewood fingerboard feels instantly comfortable—true to vintage form without sacrificing playability. The steel tremolo bridge is set flush to the body, allowing for downward pitch movement only, enhancing resonance and increasing overall acoustic volume for improved pickup response.
Loaded with a trio of 635JM single-coil pickups, this guitar produces a full, rounded tone with a sweet, musical top end—never harsh or overly bright. It’s articulate, dynamic, and exceptionally responsive to touch.
The guitar is in excellent condition with no visual blemishes to note. Electronics work as expected and sound fantastic. Includes Original premium PRS gig bag, tremolo bar, hang tag and all case candy.
