This 2026 Novo Serus J is an exceptional example of Novo’s unique approach to boutique guitar building. This example is in excellent condition, with no visual blemishes outside of the intentional factory relic work. The electronics function flawlessly and the guitar sounds fantastic. The Serus J features a Tempered Pine body paired with a Tempered Maple neck and East Indian rosewood fingerboard. Novo’s proprietary wood-tempering process is designed to accelerate the characteristics of naturally aged wood, resulting in an instrument with an exceptionally open, resonant, and broken-in feel.
The Fralin P-90 pickups are the star of the show. The bridge pickup has a thick, articulate voice with a satisfying midrange bark that works beautifully with everything from clean amps to heavier overdrive. The neck pickup delivers plenty of warmth and character while retaining excellent clarity and pick attack. Combine both pickups and you get a remarkably open, articulate tone with plenty of sparkle.
The Mastery M1 bridge and Novo-engraved Mastery vibrato with Lightning Bolt arm add both performance and personality, while the Dumble knobs complete the understated boutique aesthetic.
