This limited-run Les Paul Standard ’50s Double Trouble in Vintage Tobacco Burst is a stunning example of Gibson’s modern take on a golden-era classic - enhanced with subtle vintage-inspired appointments and eye-catching details.
The guitar is in Excellent condition with no notable cosmetic blemishes. There may be very light surface wear that’s difficult to capture in photos, but overall this guitar presents beautifully. The rosewood fretboard on this example is especially dark and rich. Electronics function flawlessly and deliver the tone you’d expect from a top-tier Les Paul.
The Double Trouble series builds on the beloved Les Paul Standard ’50s platform, adding unique visual and tonal character. Most notably, the uncovered Burstbucker 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups feature Double Classic White bobbins, giving the guitar a distinctive vintage aesthetic. These pickups are handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop with Alnico 2 magnets, delivering articulate highs, tight lows, and dynamic, responsive output.
Another standout feature is the “Vintage” nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Unlike Gibson’s standard gloss finishes that replicate factory-new 1950s instruments, this slightly faded variation evokes the gentle aging and patina that occurs over time. Each top is individually hand-sprayed, resulting in unique burst patterns from guitar to guitar.
