Created in collaboration with John Gourley of Portugal. The Man, the Limited Edition Electromatic Broadkaster captures the “force of nature” creativity that defines his sound and style. The guitar is elevated by exclusive artwork from renowned contemporary artist Cleon Peterson, whose bold aesthetic is woven throughout the instrument—from the pearloid “cloud” fingerboard inlays and bespoke truss rod cover to the custom metal head badge and graphic pickguard. The result is a distinctive, collectible instrument unlike anything else in the Gretsch lineup.
Under the hood, this Broadkaster delivers pro-level performance. Its double-cutaway arched maple body is paired with a chambered spruce center block, offering lightweight comfort, impressive feedback control, and an open, airy resonance that retains clarity, snap, and articulate attack. Tonally, it’s powered by U.S.-made Full’Tron™ humbuckers designed by famed pickup engineer Tim Shaw. These pickups provide classic Gretsch chime and brilliance while adding a muscular midrange presence and unmistakable snarl—perfect for everything from shimmering cleans to saturated overdrive at full volume.
The thin “U”-shaped maple neck with a 12” radius laurel fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets ensures smooth playability and modern comfort. A master volume with treble bleed circuit, master tone, individual pickup volume controls, and a three-position selector offer exceptional tonal flexibility. Premium appointments such as the Anchored Adjusto-Matic™ bridge, Bigsby® B70 vibrato, Graph Tech NuBone nut, locking tuners, strap locks, and nickel hardware round out this performance-driven package.
The guitar is in excellent condition with no major blemishes to note. Light superficial surface scratches can be seen in the right light, but cannot be photographed. Plastic still on the pickups! This model does not include a case.
