This Gretsch Professional Falcon is an absolutely stunning example of one of Gretsch’s most iconic designs. Finished in the beautiful Cerulean Smoke, this Falcon delivers the unmistakable combination of Gretsch sparkle, hollowbody warmth, Filter’Tron punch, and Bigsby shimmer that has made the Falcon a legendary stage and studio instrument.
This guitar is in excellent condition with no visual blemishes to note. Light superficial surface scratches may be present and light tarnishing on the gold pieces, but are too minor to show up in photos. The electronics work as expected and sound fantastic. Includes the original Gretsch hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity, OK card, and all case candy.
The Professional Falcon features a full-hollow laminated maple body that produces a naturally bright, lively acoustic response with plenty of resonance and sustain. Gretsch's Arc-Tone bracing adds additional support beneath the bridge while helping produce the Falcon's characteristic snap, attack, and clarity.
Plug it in and the Falcon really comes alive. A pair of Pro-FT Filter'Tron humbuckers provide everything from classic Gretsch twang and sparkle to surprisingly aggressive overdrive. The Alnico V bridge pickup delivers additional bite and punch, while the Alnico II neck pickup offers a warmer, smoother voice.
The Falcon's electronics are equally versatile, featuring a No-Load tone control and treble-bleed circuit on the master volume, allowing you to roll back the volume without losing the clarity and high-end detail that makes these guitars so special.
And, of course, there's the Bigsby B6 vibrato. The string-through design makes string changes considerably easier while retaining the smooth, expressive vibrato that Bigsby players love. Grover Imperial locking tuners round out the package with excellent tuning stability and easy string changes.
