The PRS NF 53 is Paul Reed Smith’s bold reinterpretation of a classic early-’50s single-cut, bolt-on design—blending vintage inspiration with modern precision and playability. Finished in a striking Matcha Green Satin, this model stands out visually while delivering a powerful, articulate voice that covers serious tonal ground.
Inspired by a 1953 guitar from Paul’s personal collection, the NF 53 features a resonant swamp ash body paired with a bolt-on maple neck carved to PRS’s comfortable Pattern 53 profile. The sleek cutaway and 10” radius maple fingerboard (22 frets) make for a fast, effortless playing experience, while the 25.5” scale length provides a familiar snap and response.
At the heart of the NF 53 are PRS Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) pickups. Designed with taller bobbins and additional windings, these pickups offer a unique tonal blend—capturing the clarity of a single-coil, the punch of a P-90, and the fullness of a humbucker, all with impressive focus and output. From clean, chimey rhythms to gritty, driven tones, this guitar handles it all with ease.
